The proposals for Barrhead South were prepared in two stages: A Development Framework approved by the Council in January 2014. Supplementary Planning Guidance approved by the Council in March 2015. Nathan managed the preparation of these documents whilst working at Geddes Consulting. 


The SPG provides information to assist the delivery of a coherent masterplan in Barrhead South and is the next stage in the masterplanning process for Barrhead South.


The SPG sets out the masterplanning principles which should be followed at the more detailed design stage which will follow at the stage of securing planning permission.


The preparation of the SPG took place in consultation with the local community and key stakeholder agencies such as SNH, SEPA, Scottish Water, Glasgow Clyde Valley Green Network, and others. It also involved discussions with the service departments in East Renfrewshire Council.
