Following the Commonwealth Games and the regeneration it brought to Dalmarnock, there was a great potential to continue the ‘evolution’ in the development of a successful place.

During the Commonwealth Games there was a significant amount of temporary facilities providing the ‘Front of House’ facilities. These were removed on completion of the Games providing opportunities to integrate existing and new residential areas.

Following on from the work already well developed by RMJM for the athletes village, Nathan produced a design code which provided a guide for future development. It allows a degree of flexibility whilst delivering a distinctive, welcoming, robust and safe urban environment.

A key feature of the design code is the creation of development parcels which provide opportunities to respond to market demand, providing an explanation of the key features which combine to provide an appropriate degree of guidance to the site.
