Proposed student accommodation comprising 266 Student bedrooms within 54 apartments together with reception, common rooms, gym, laundry, external open space/public realm.
The Client Brief for this site is to create an attractive, inclusive and well connected development of circa 266 student bedrooms. This can be delivered as a stand alone development and can act as a catalyst for the future development of the surrounding context.
The development of this site will ameliorate pressure on Edinburgh’s existing private residential housing stock through the provision of purpose built student accommodation.
FourWard has identified the potential of this long-term regeneration opportunity for this existing industrial land, a significant portion of which is controlled by the City of Edinburgh Council. The land provides an opportunity to deliver a mixed-use development comprising a range of commercial, employment, residential and amenity uses which would be of significant benefit to the city.
The proposed site on the western side of Russell Road provides an opportunity to deliver a catalyst to the regeneration of this area of the city. The development of this site offers the opportunity to significantly improve the streetscape of Russell Road.
