RMJM

The new Campus for Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College forms 12,000m2 of highly specialised facilities from performance studios and creative arts suites to teaching laboratories and provides a state of the art home for over 4,000 students and staff.

​The facility is utilised by the community as well as the students and staff providing a place where people can invest “Social Capital” in their town.

​Whilst working with RMJM, Nathan undertook detailed consultations with the local authority and wider masterplanning team to develop proposals which will eventually integrate the college within a regenerated town centre.

​Through consultation, Nathan undertook a detailed analysis of the town centre regeneration proposals, design parameters and conceptual approach to RMJM's winning scheme.

​The building establishes a landmark feature, at the end of the proposed new high street, it also defines a proposed new public space, street edge and mediates between urban and natural landscape environments.
