The project team was invited by the Fineland Group to design a masterplan for a comprehensive mixed use development in Heshan, Guangdong, China.
The site occupies an area of 200 hectares, with ancillary facilities of approximately 47 hectares. It was envisaged by the client that this scheme is to become an important part of the New City of Heshan and an example of the new standard of living and lifestyle for the area.
Nathan lead the winning masterplan team at RMJM. This provided a range of residential environments whilst retaining the topography, landscape qualities. The ability for part of the site to remain in agricultural use provided a unique residential environment and offered opportunities to retain a greater degree of social and ecological diversity.
The proposal provides a variety of phased solutions to delivery, including 10 residential phases, an educational zone, ecological park, and commercial zone.
